Palestinian traditional dress

Measurement Guide

All measurements listed are garment measurements — not body measurements. Lay a similar piece flat at home to compare, or follow the instructions below for the most accurate fit.

How to
Measure

Use a soft measuring tape and keep it taut but not tight. Take measurements over light undergarments for the most accurate results. When in doubt, measure twice.

01
Chest

Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape horizontal and level all the way around.

02
Shoulder Width

Measure from the outer edge of one shoulder across your back to the outer edge of the other.

03
Sleeve Length

With arm slightly bent, measure from the shoulder seam along the outside of the arm to your wrist bone.

04
Waist

Measure around your natural waistline — typically the narrowest part of your torso, above the hip.

05
Hips

Stand with feet together and measure around the widest part of your hips and seat.

06
Garment Length

Measured from the highest point of the shoulder seam straight down to the hem of the garment.

Thobe
Sizing

Palestinian thobes are designed with a timeless, relaxed silhouette. The chest width and overall length are the two most important measurements for an elegant drape.

How to Measure a Thobe
  • I Lay the thobe flat on a clean, smooth surface.
  • II Measure the width from armpit seam to armpit seam across the chest.
  • III Measure the total garment length from the highest shoulder point to the hem.
  • IV Compare these numbers to the chart below to find your size.

Fit NoteFor the traditional loose silhouette, we recommend sizing up one size. For a more contemporary fit, stay true to size.

Pants
Sizing

For trousers and pants, waist width and inseam length are the two critical measurements. A well-fitting waist paired with the right length makes all the difference.

How to Measure Pants
  • I Lay pants flat. Measure the waistband straight across from edge to edge.
  • II Measure the inseam from the crotch seam down to the ankle hem.

Scarf &
Kufiyah

Our scarves and Kufiyah pieces are woven in a single universal size, allowing for versatile draping and styling around the neck, shoulders, or head.

Universal Dimensions
100 × 100 cm
One Size

The square format is designed to accommodate every styling method — from traditional head wrapping to a loose drape over the shoulders or a folded neck scarf.

The generous dimensions ensure the pattern and embroidery are displayed to their full effect, regardless of how you choose to wear it.

Please
Note

All our pieces are made with exceptional care. A few things to keep in mind when consulting these size charts.

All measurements may vary slightly — typically 1 to 2 cm — depending on the specific garment and the point of measurement.

Handmade and hand-embroidered pieces carry the natural variation of artisan craftsmanship. These subtle differences are a mark of authenticity.

When you find yourself between two sizes, we always recommend choosing the larger size for a more comfortable, traditional feel.
